Percutaneous drainage systems involve placing a catheter through the skin to collect infected bodily fluids. When these fluids aren’t properly drained, patients can face sepsis or fatal consequences. Current drainage solutions limit patients’ mobility, making them reliant on nurses and caretakers. NoviRad Inc., a Houston-based medical device startup, is working on improving these solutions with its own drainage system, reducing recovery time and increasing patient mobility.
